At this year’s National Safety Council Congress and Expo held in Atlanta in late September, OSHA revealed the top ten most cited OSHA violations of the past year. Listed below are the violations, each linked to their respective official OSHA indices.
Most Cited Violations of 2015
- Fall Protection
- Hazard Communication
- Scaffolding
- Respiratory Protection
- Control of Hazardous Energy – Lockout/Tagout
- Powered Industrial Trucks
- Ladders
- Electrical – Wiring Methods
- Machine Guarding
- Electrical – General
This list of OSHA violations differs from the 2014 rankings only in numbers 7 and 8; Ladders and Electrical – Wiring Methods have swapped places (2014: Ladders #8, Electrical – Wiring Methods #7). It is the fifth year in a row that Fall Protection has topped the list. Though every violation is important to note and address, these top ten should be taken into special consideration when looking to strengthen your company’s own safety plan.
