FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—December 13, 2010—Ypsilanti, MI—As part of our on-going monitoring of regulatory changes that may impact our customers, Quantum Compliance Systems, Inc. (Quantum) notes the addition of new TRI chemicals starting in 2012.
On November 26, 2010, the EPA finalized a rule to add 16 new chemicals to the TRI list of reportable chemicals. The rule is effective November 30, 2010, and applies for the reporting year beginning January 1, 2011 (reports due July 1, 2012).
Four of the chemicals are being added to the polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs) category. The PACs category contain chemicals that are persistent, bioaccumulative, toxic (PBT) chemicals and are likely to remain in the environment for a long time, are not readily destroyed, and may build up or accumulate in body. The full list of new chemicals is provided below.
